A decorative print exists to fill a wall. It’s chosen because it matches a colour scheme or fits a space. Fine art photography exists because the image itself has something to say — about light, about place, about a moment in time that the photographer waited for and earned.

Every image in the tasveer khaana collection is made with compositional intent. We’re not licensing stock images or sourcing from generic catalogues. These are original photographs, made on location, by our team.

Generic artwork vs Original photography

Posters are typically reproductions of artwork that already exists — often licensed, often widely distributed, often the same image you’ll find in a hundred other homes. There’s nothing wrong with that, but it’s not what we do.

Our photographs are original. They were made at specific places — Humayun’s Tomb at dawn, the carved doorways of Agra Fort, the inner architecture of a Mughal garden — at specific moments, with specific intent. You won’t find them anywhere else.

Short lifespan vs Archival quality

A poster printed with dye-based inks on acidic paper will begin to fade and yellow within a few years, especially in sunlight or humidity. This is not a flaw — it’s simply what that product is designed to be: affordable, temporary, replaceable.

Every tasveer khaana print is produced as an archival giclée — pigment-based inks on acid-free, museum-grade paper. These prints are rated to last 80–200 years without significant fading under normal display conditions. The same standard used by fine art galleries and museum collections worldwide.

Mass produced vs Artist curated

Posters are printed in bulk runs, optimised for volume and cost. Each print in our collection is produced individually, with colour profiling specific to the paper and printer being used. Every image is reviewed before it ships.

The collection itself is curated — we don’t add images because they’re popular or commercially safe. We add them because they’re exceptional.

Decoration vs Collectible art

This is perhaps the most important distinction. A poster decorates a space. Fine art photography becomes part of it — something you live with, that rewards repeated viewing, that guests ask about, that holds its meaning and its value over time.
